Our beloved Mount Mansfield is the highest mountain in Vermont with a summit that peaks at 4,395 feet (1,340 m) above sea level. The mountain which is part of the Vermont State Park Lands, has the appearance of a human profile, with distinct forehead, nose, lips, chin, and Adam's apple.
Since the early 1800’s visitors to Stowe have explored, hiked, and skied this impressive and beautiful mountain. Whether it’s taking the Gondola ride to the "Chin", hiking up the Long Trail, driving to the top on the historic auto Toll Road, or riding the Alpine Slide at Spruce Peak, experiencing the beauty of Mt. Mansfield should definitely be on your "to do" list when visiting our Green Mountains.
